Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has been used in high-rise structures, bridges and tunnels.
Description of Ascorbic Acid VitaminC
Ascorbic is a mild acid that can form white powders, slightly yellow crystals, and powders. The m.p. of Ascorbic Acid is between 190-192. It is easily soluble, as well as in water. It’s solid and stable when heated. Water solution easily transforms when it meets air.

Concrete Ascorbic A Vitamin C
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has been used as a construction material admixture.
vitamin C has many strong polar functional units carboxyl and hydrochl groups. These groups provide dispersion or flow properties for cement particles by increasing the concrete workability and decreasing friction between them.
In addition, the cement particles contain polycarboxylic and carboxylate acids. They also attract cement particles on their surface. As a result, there is electrostatic repellence between cement particle and dispersion. So cement can be fully hydrated by increasing the amount of cement particles in contact with water.
The process of diffusing cement particles releases the water trapped in condensates. This reduces the mixing time and improves workability.
