1. Preparation of an ablative composite layer of silicon carbide–hafnium silicide-tantalum silicide (SiC–HfSi2-TaSi2). Carbon fiber reinforced carbon (C/C), a type of new composite material which resists high temperatures, uses carbon fibre as its reinforcement material and has pyrolytical carbon as the matrix. In the early 1970s the United States conducted research into C /C materials for thermal structures. You can use C / c composite materials as structural, thermal materials in the gas turbine engine, space shuttle nose cone caps, leading edges and other areas. They are able to work in extreme temperatures or oxidation conditions.
